Director of Loss Prevention
Jesse uses a critical eye to manage the security and quality assurance programs for five supermarkets. His responsibilities include investigating and apprehending internal and external shoplifters; representing the company in depositions and court proceedings; and overseeing store security guards and physical security systems. He also handles investigations related to customer accidents and enforces government food safety regulations. Managing the company’s fleet, Jesse oversees the vehicles used for grocery deliveries and handles incoming shipments of merchandise.
Jesse joined Ravitz Family Markets as a part-time loss prevention agent in 2007 and previously served as the company’s security supervisor. He received a Master’s degree in criminal justice from Rutgers University-Camden and Bachelor of Science degrees in sociology and criminal justice from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Prior to joining Ravitz Family Markets, he interned with the Camden County Sheriff Department’s Bureau of Criminal Identification and the New Jersey State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
One of Jesse’s key accomplishments is being elected to the Food Marketing Institute’s Asset Protection Council. As the council’s youngest member, he works with international grocery store leaders to help combat security issues and establish best practices for the industry.
In his spare time, Jesse mentors city children in the Boys & Girls Club of America’s job readiness program. He also interviews Camden high school graduates for a Rutgers University research study on inner city students.
A former collegiate fencer, Jesse enjoys exercising, spending time with his family and friends, and working on his house in Audubon.
