Senior Director of Labor Relations
In 1992, Ken joined Ravitz Family Markets from Wakefern Food Corporation where he oversaw security for 12 stores. He joined Ravitz Family Markets as the Security Director and later transitioned to a his current role. Ken now oversees Human Resources and Labor Relations for our 1100 person company. He considers the company’s strong relationship with its unions, his development and training of new managers, and his work with the disabled community to be among his most notable accomplishments.
In the community, Ken is the Chairman for the Camden County’s Workforce Development Board’s Literacy Committeeand a member of the Executive Committee. Ken also helped create the HireOne Program, which received an award from New Jersey’s State Employment and Training Commission for encouraging employers to hire a veteran, a person with special needs, or a person who was previously incarcerated. He has developed close relationships with groups that work with the disabled such as JFCS, Bancroft, The NJ Commission for the Blind, The Arc of Camden County as well as several local high schools special education departments. The company currently runs several work opportunity and job sampling programs at each one of the stores.
Ken served on Palmyra, NJ Borough Council for 6 years as a councilman and served as Council President for 4 years. Ken is a recent graduate of Wilmington University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management. He is currently attending graduate school in pursuit of his Masters Degree in Management. In his spare time, Ken enjoys playing music, riding in his jeep and spending time at the Jersey Shore with family and friends.
