After purchasing the Ellisburg and Delran Shop N’ Bags in 1979, Stanley Ravitz drove the company’s expansion during the 1980s.
The Ravitz Family joined the Wakefern Food Corporation and began operating its stores under the ShopRite name. Leveraging the buying power of 200 food stores in seven states, Wakefern has allowed Ravitz Family Markets to raise customers’ standards of living by providing the highest quality merchandise at lower prices.
Steve and Ron led the construction of the Mount Laurel store, the first built from the ground up by the family.
With the opening of the Racetrack store, Ravitz Family Markets began its shift from smaller facilities to those with more products and services.
The Ravitz family acquired three Stop ‘N’ Shop locations and together with its associates, worked around the clock to reopen the stores within 60 days.
