Ken Brahl

Senior Director, Chief Compliance Officer

In 1992, Ken joined Ravitz Family Markets from Wakefern Food Corporation where he served as a District Loss Prevention Supervisor. He joined Ravitz Family Markets as the Security Director and in 2002 he transitioned to the position of Director of Labor Relations.  In 2019, Ken assumed the role of Chief Compliance Officer and oversees Human Resources, Labor Relations and Compliance for our 1000 person company. He considers the company’s strong relationship with its unions, his development and training of new managers, his mental health awareness and training activities, and his work with the disabled community to be among his most notable accomplishments.

In the community, Ken has developed close relationships with groups that work with the disabled such as JFCS, The NJ Commission for the Blind, and numerous local high school’s special education departments.  Ken has been a speaker at events highlighting job opportunities for persons with disabilities and the company currently runs several work opportunities and job sampling programs at each one of the stores. Ken was also chair of the Literacy committee and Vice-Chairman for the Camden County’s Workforce Development Board (WDB) for over 13 years.  Ken was recently appointed and is now currently serving on the Camden County College Foundation which helps promote scholarships to deserving students and helps support the college’s tradition of Academic Excellence.

Through his strong cooperation with the company labor unions, he earned a recommendation from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) for a position on the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations state advisory council.  Rutgers has consistently ranked as one of the top three schools for Labor Relations in the country and Ken is very proud of his appointment to this advisory council.

Ken served on the Palmyra, NJ Borough Council for 6 years as a councilman and served as Council President for 4 years. Ken graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management and completed his Masters of Science in Management, Human Resources Concentration from Wilmington University. He works as an Adjunct Associate Professor for Camden County College teaching Business and Management. Ken also teaches Mental Health First Aid and has certified over 130 people. In his spare time, Ken enjoys playing and listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
