Ron Ravitz

Vice President – Retired

With his culinary background and sense of creativity, Ron Ravitz leads the company in providing convenient and delicious meal options for families in Southern New Jersey, setting the pace for the supermarket industry in the “home meal replacement” segment. His key accomplishments include leading the development of the Ravitz Signature Items, A La Cart Catering Services, and “farm to table” locally grown produce selections.

At the age of 8, Ron worked alongside his grandfather, father, uncle, and brother Steve at Dave’s Market in North Philadelphia. More than 50 years and three generations later, the Ravitz family remains committed to serving the communities in which they reside.

Ron studied hospitality and hotel business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and returned to the region to work in his family’s store in 1975. After rotating through every department and serving as a store manager, Ron returned to his studies at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College and earned an associate degree in the culinary arts in 2002.

Upon graduation, Ron traveled across France’s agricultural regions, traversing farming areas in Alsace, Burgundy, Champagne, and Lorraine. He focused on learning about wine production, raising animals, making cheese, and caring for the land.

Deeply committed to the communities in Southern New Jersey, Ron serves on the board of the Ravitz Family Foundation and helps to administer grants to nonprofits and community organizations that help families and children. A part-time resident of Atlantic City, Ron is also involved in the City’s revitalization as a member of the Boardwalk Redevelopment Committee and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

When he’s not enjoying his time at the shore, Ron lives in Medford, N.J. He enjoys cooking, entertaining, and spending time with his son Scott, daughter-in-law Lauren, and grandson Alden.
